In the 2006 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, Aston Martin V8 Vantage officially launched the Roadster. The car more than 200 pounds won the Coupe, but Aston Martin claimed that the car has the same performance as the coupé. To compensate for the loss of the roof of a new, super-rigid cross was added to the structure. The soft top can be raised or lowered electronically in 18 seconds and can be operated at speeds up to 30 mph (50 kph).
